Home Brew Audio is a home based business created and run by myself. My goal is to offer high quality audio cables at affordable prices. No hype, hoopla, voodoo or sorcery, just good quality parts used. I don't use expensive, exotic 5 nines UPOCC silver wire or pure gold wire. I currently use .999s purity soft temper solid core silver wires. This keeps the cost down to 1/20 the price of the more exotic brands while still offering competitive performance. I use gold plated Neutrik RCA connectors which offer a snug fit. The conductors are housed in a Teflon jacket and finished off with an attractive, durable braid. Cardas quad eutectic solder is used and the connectors are treated with Caig Deoxit Gold to enhance conductivity.
History
After spending over 40 years in the audio hobby I felt it was time to delve into the field of DIY audio. I had some success several years ago making power cords for audio systems. My Basic PowerCords were a success on a small scale and I sold several hundred with only one return. After owning several pair of high priced audio cables myself and seeing the rapidly soaring prices I decided to build and offer my own at a fraction of the cost of the major brands. I don't have large overhead, advertising expense or a research and development team so I don't have the high markups of major manufacturers.
I use .999s pure solid core soft temper silver that is purchased from an american company with over 50 years in the industry. The silver I use is much more cost effective than .9999s or .99999s UPOCC silver wire that will add 10X or more to the selling price. I also use good quality RCA connectors such as the gold plated Neutrik connectors on my basic cables. This also helps keep the cost down. Expensive jewelry like connectors can cost upwards of $250 for a set of four. I do offer silver plated RCA connectors as an option for $20 and up depending on the type. I use silver because it is a better conductor and does not deteriorate the sound quality as it oxidizes such as copper does. Also, I feel small AWG solid core silver to be the best option. It doesn't have the brightness associated with stranded silver wire.
I use oversized Teflon tubing and offer cotton tubing as an option. Cotton is a better dielectric and offers a more open lively sound. I use Cardas Quad Eutectic solder and all connectors are treated with Caig Deoxit Gold to enhance conductivity.

Interconnects up to 2 meters in length are shipped free within U.S. For other items add shipping cost listed for that item. Select cash/cod option whether paying via money order or PayPal.
